Improving Self Esteem Helps You Cope Better
From the time we start to crawl humans start to form mental pictures of what the world is like around them and about themselves. Young children start finding what their strengths are and what their weaknesses are and as they grow the mental picture keeps changing. Time and again we all have to recollect ourselves and find ways of improving self esteem.
You create your own self image by the mental pictures you keep forming and other images are based on the kind of interactions you have with other humans and one will also build self image by the type of experiences you have encountered and when combined will account for the way you feel about yourself.
Our immediate surroundings play a big part in determining high or low self esteem and it is import to feel loved and accepted by our friends and piers and the most important factor is that you love yourself as well as accept who you are and what you stand for. When you have high self esteem you will automatically feel on top of the world and you will achieve and accomplish whatever you have set out to do.
The non achievers are those that have a very low esteem and they are also very negative about most things and people around them. When one reaches their teen years they hit an all time low as this is a time in their lives where they have to establish who they are and where they are heading to. In order to grow one need’s to go through high and low esteem periods but just realize that this is not an illness it is stages we go through.
Here are some tips you can use when you feel your self esteem is low. Go out and do something you really love or go and help someone that is in need, which not only will make you feel good but the other person as well.
Make a note of all the wonderful things you have achieved in your lifetime and take a look at where your strengths lie then give yourself a pat on the shoulder. Your friends or anyone else’s problems are not your concern and should they get nasty ignore and walk away. Surround yourself with people that have high esteem and do not allow negativity to enter your space.
And remember that you are the only one that can make a change and also have respect for other people’s opinions and learn to accept compliments with open arms. Never put yourself down as there are no perfect people on the planet. And remember there is always someone out there that is a lot worse off than you.
