Recent studies have shown that the ideal temperature to work in is around 20°C. and when the temperature rises by just 4°C to 24°C, productivity drops by as much as 15%, not only that, the chances of accidents will actually rises by 25%.

For retailers, the effect of excessive heat is dramatic. Not only can the stock be damaged by heat and humidity, the bottom line is affected by the lack of customers wishing to dwell in the shop. Installing air conditioning, however large or small will have a positive effect on your profits. Customers will want to shop with you, they will be happy to be out of the heat and dwell longer and spend more.

Hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities have a similar problem, if the atmosphere isn’t right, they won’t stay for long and certainly wont recommend you to their friends. Staff are more productive and effective if the temperature is controlled.

What To Look For In A Reverse Osmosis System

Posted: under General Interest.

Many of us take it for granted that the water we get from our kitchen sink is safe to drink and cook with.  However, some of us are not so fortunate and may have to install water filtration systems to remove impurities which may cause us harm, perhaps not immediately, but gradually as toxic substances in our drinking water may accumulate in our bodies over time.  For people who are concerned about the health risk of their home water supply, they may want to consider looking at installing a reverse osmosis system.

A key component of a RO (reverse osmosis) system is the membrane.  This is where the hard job of preventing various poisonous substances from being sent out of the kitchen sink faucet takes place.  Any potentially harmful impurities such as bacteria, pesticides, chlorine, industrial wastes, asbestos or cadmium, is blocked by this barrier which only allows water molecules to pass through.  Contaminants are washed out into the drain.  The output of this process is almost 100% pure water.

The membrane isn’t the only critical component of the reverse osmosis system.  In addition, there is usually a pre-filter and a post filter that come before and after the membrane in the RO set up respectively.  The pre-filter blocks sediment such as sand, silt and dirt in the water from entering through.  There may be another pre-filter that uses carbon to remove chlorine which may have a negative effect on some types of membranes.  Then after the membrane there is usually a carbon post filter that eliminates any remaining odor or tastes in the purified water.

Reverse osmosis systems operate in the same way and look very much alike.  They also use the same basic components.  The only difference in RO systems is in the quality of the filters and membranes they use.  When shopping for a reverse osmosis system and having it installed, home owners should first find adequate solutions for their water quality problem before making a serious commitment.  RO systems must be maintained to insure water quality.  That means parts and filters will need to be replaced on a regular basis.  You must be aware of these ongoing costs and be ready to keep the system operating smoothly.

The Choices of Natural Stone

Posted: under General Interest.

Stones of the past seem to be the future!Stone is a product of nature and its appearance is a result of millions of years of geologic change and mineral composition. Extreme color variations, as well as variations in veining, shade, finish, texture, strength, hardness and density are all characteristics of natural stone. Some stones may contain a resin filler to fill in the natural fissures or pits in the stone’s surface. Special care is required for maintaining natural stone. Check with a local sales representative regarding the special needs for your stone selection. With proper care, its beauty will last a lifetime.

Granite:(Igneous Rock) Granite began as liquid magma in the earths core and is comprised mainly of quartz, feldspar, mica and other minerals. It’s high compressive strength, hardness and durability make it an ideal choice for flooring and counter tops as well as exterior applications.

Marble & Onyx: (Metamorphic Rock) Marble is formed from Limestone that has been heated by the earth’s core and changed into a crystalline structure. It is valued for its rich, beautiful colors and unique veining.

Limestone:(Sedimentary Rock) Limestone is comprised mainly of calcium carbonate and is the result of millions of years of sea shells and bones of sea creatures settling on the ocean floor. You can sometimes notice the fossils when examined closely.

Travertine: (Sedimentary Rock) Travertine began as Limestone and is a result of hot springs in the earth’s core. After the water evaporated, the layers of dissolved limestone and minerals gave the stone its banded appearance. The characteristic holes in the stone are a result from gas bubbles which evaporate and form crystals in the cavities. These cavities are sometimes left as is for a more rustic & antique look or filled with a tinted epoxy and honed for a more solid surface effect.

Slate:(Metamorphic) Slate is formed from compressed layers of the sedimentary rock shale that can be split to reveal beautiful colors and textured surfaces. Slate can be split and left with its natural cleft surface or gauged for a more consistent thickness.

Quartzite: (Metamorphic) Similar to slate, quartzite contains 95% quartz and a higher concentration of mica which gives it a sparkling texture. The current trend in stone is definitely travertine – as old looking as possible.

There are several things that can be done to stone to create new finishes. Here is a list of popular finishes:

Antiqued:This can mean different things to different manufacturers. The surface is usually brushed or honed with different pads, creating an old look. Sometimes the surface is acid washed, exposing a dimpled surface (this works especially well with travertine). The edges tend to have a chipped or tumbled look. Basically the stone looks like it’s been around a while.

Brushed:Wire brushes are used on the surface to create an undulated look.Chiseled: There are various methods used to produce this look, but basically the edges come out chipped. Generally the surface of the tile is honed or brushed.

Cobbled:Basically the same as chiseled, but the chips aren’t as deep.Honed: A matte surface is created similar to polishing, minus the last few pads. High Hone:A matte finish with a soft sheen, between honed and polished.Polished: Pads are used to create a glossy sheen on the surface of the stone.

Tumbling: Tumbled stones are put in a big cylinder and tumbled with other stones and smaller stones to create a rounded edge and softer finish. Length of time in the “Tumbler” determines how rounded the edges are. Softer stones, such as travertine, tend to have a more rounded edge than harder stones, such as marble.

Nice one, my new dental coverage just turned on!

Posted: under General Interest.

Whew! my dental insurance just turned on!

It has been such a long time since I’ve been insured that I’ve been suffering from some unnecessary dental pain. Fortunately, my new employer offers an insurance plan that is really, really good. Therefore, I’m planning on getting my dental problems done up in style. My coverage is so comprehensive, it turns out, that now I am actually thinking about surpassing the usual family dental measures and seriously thinking about some cosmetic dentistry work in addition. My family has been going on about getting some some straightening or some laser tooth whitening, so I’m looking into what kinds of prices we can get on having those done.

The main difficulty, for us, is figuring out how to find a good dentist in our area. It makes me feel bad acknowledging it, but my family doesn’t even have a regular family dentist that we have a relationship with.We live in Tampa, Florida, so I’ve been on the lookout for a Tampa dentistry office that is good with kids and has a wide range of experience with these particular types of services. It’s tough to find! There are a lot of things you want to consider when you’re hiring a dentist. I’m not sure, for example, if I would want to go to a dentist who didn’t get the majority of his experience in another area of medicine.

As far as the most current dentistry services go, I’ve whether they’re a good option for us. The newest and most modern approaches have definitely been making leaps and bounds these last ten years or so. I keep hearing about them on TV, how much better they are than the usual dental techniques. I’ve been searching the internet for “laser dentist Tampa” and it appears as though the techniques and equipment they use is pretty far ahead of what you would have gotten twenty years ago, so I’m hoping that my family can benefit from such good dentistry now that I have a better job.

Fear Of Public Speaking, the Best Way to Get Rid of It

Posted: under General Interest.

Do you have nightmares about public speaking? When you have to stand up in front of a group does your mouth go dry? Hands shake? Stomach turn flip-flops? Feel lightheaded? Think you may pass out?

Welcome to the club. If it’s any comfort, you are not alone!

According to a well-known survey, 65% of us would rather die than speak in public. Many have tried for years to overcome their fear and given it up as hopeless. But wait! There is hope.

We can now turn to one tested method to end the fear of public speaking that has been shown to yield amazing results. It is The Lefkoe Method (TLM).

Probably the least known, but possibly the fastest way of getting rid of the fear of speaking in public, is The Lefkoe Method (TLM). TLM is based on the knowledge that our behavior is governed by what we believe to be true. Therefore, it focuses on finding the 10 or so negative beliefs that make us fear public speaking. These can be such beliefs as, Mistakes and failure are bad; If I make a mistake, I’ll be rejected; or People aren’t interested in what I have to say; etc.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of this approach is how consistently it works. In a study published by the Journal of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, university researchers found that on a scale of 1-10, participants who used TLM lowered their fear of public speaking from an average of 7 down to 1.5 (1 was a lack of any fear at all). It took an average 3.5 hours for participants to reach this level. In follow-up six months later, the fear had not returned. Based on this evidence, the researchers concluded that, The Lefkoe Method is an effective, quick, and convenient procedure to eliminate the fear of speaking in public.

TLM was created over 20 years ago by Morty Lefkoe, founder of The Lefkoe Institute. He and several other certified facilitators have helped over 12,000 clients rid themselves of their fear of public speaking, along with many other emotional and behavioral problems. Their Speaking Without Fear Program is offered with a money-back guarantee: if your fear is not gone in four or less one-hour telephone sessions, you’ll get a full refund. For more information visit: Fear of Public Speaking.

The Lefkoe Institute (TLI) has a money back guarantee and a 97% success rate.

Keep in mind that most people who have benefited from TLM agree that the skill of the practitioner is of the utmost importance in determining the effectiveness of the program. If you really desire to overcome your fear of public speaking, be sure you are working with someone who is highly skilled, gives you confidence in his/her ability, and makes you want to succeed. And about that money-back guarantee? Couldn’t hurt.

Audi A3 Sportback

Posted: under General Interest.

Extent does stands important, at least in the instance of the Audi A3. On the word of its manufacturer, the adding of simply 3.3in in measurement lengthwise “ changes” the regular A3 car into something grandly headed Audi A3 Sportback.

Released to the England in September 2004, the Audi A3 Sportback is so called because it owns five entries, and thus occupies a particular spot, joining the break between persons who want small- ownership common sense and those who prefer not to confess that they apply.

The frame is similar to that of the three-door Audi A3 Sportback and the VW Golf, but the Audi A3 Sportback’s repositioned back seat releases supplementary rear legroom  and the addendum of back doors eases rear-seat admittance.

The supplementary overall length  also produces higher boot size – up to a total 370 liters – even if it is worth noting that all- helm-drive Quattro versions have a boot curbed to 302 liters due tothe rear frame.

Engines pretty much reflect those of the three- entrance Audi A3 Sportback, with a good mixture of diesel and fuel. The main level 1.6 gasoline gets in 102bhp or 115bhp appearance; the latter being gasoline-efficient straightforward shot (FSI). Neither helps much performance but you even now get that Audi satisfying factor. For roughly £1,000 more, though, purchasers could enjoy a used 2 liter FSI with 150bhp. It’s softer and nearly 2sec faster to 60mph, the marginal 4mpg dip in petrol economy being simple enough to justify.

There is in addition a turbocharged 2 liter FSI performing 197bhp – the identical unit as witnessed in the Golf GTI – and not astonishingly, it functions for an surprising move and assists to validate the Sportback reputation.

How to Get Rid of Skin Tags

Posted: under General Interest.

There’s a lot of free advise floating around online on How to get rid of skin tags. Some of it good…some not so good.

One article suggested that I just cut it off. Well call me a chicken or anything else for that matter but I just don’t have the guts to take a pair of scizzors and cut my body. It is not just the pain that I am worried about, it’s also the blood stopping techniques the article goes on to describe.

There has to be a better less brutal way to remove skin tags

Here are two ways I found that seem…well…a little less brutal.

First way to get rid of skin tags is to use fingernail polish. For obvious reasons you will want to use clear. Apply it to your tag mole at least twice a day. Make sure you cover it completely. Try not to miss applications because it can slow the removal process.

In a few days you will see the tag mole start to shrink and in time you will be able to just scratch it off. Try to be very accurate with the finger nail polish because you may experience some minor skin irritation if you get it on your skin.

Another way to remove skin tags is to tie a string around them. Ok…I know this sounds really silly but it actually works. The pressure of the string will strangle the tag mole. Depending on how stubborn the little booger is it should start to dry up and fall of in a few days to a couple of weeks.

Ok…I found it really hard to write about How To Get Rid Of Skin Tags and keep a straight face at the same time…makes me laugh that folks will actually try this stuff. How about you?

If you want a professional to tell you How To Get Rid Of Skin Tags …use this link…If you are like me and tons of other thinking adults, there’s just too much free information available online. Free is good…don’t get me wrong…but when it comes to my health and my body, common sense tells me to seek professional help.

Vitamin and Mineral Supplements for Sleeping

Posted: under General Interest.

Vitamin & Mineral Supplements that Aid Sleeping

Adding vitamins and minerals to your existing diet, may help you find relief from sleeplessness. You may be one of those people who are not getting enough of certain vitamins and minerals that are needed for sleeping well. If you have a deficiency, one of these nutritional supplements may help:

Calcium. Too little calcium in your diet can cause the inability to sleep. Combine a daily 600mg supplement with food for the best effect.

Magnesium. A deficiency in magnesium can cause nervousness resulting in shallow sleeping and the inability to stay asleep. A supplement of 250g taken daily, or the addition of magnesium-rich foods such as almonds, kelp and wheat bran can help.

Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine). Vitamin B-6 is needed to produce the levels of serotonin required by the body to trigger sleep. The recommended dosage of B-6 is 50-100mg daily, and can be taken in nutritional yeast form and mixed into a glass of fruit juice.

Vitamin B-12 (cobalamin). If you don’t get enough B-12, you may experience grogginess, confusion, or memory loss, and insomnia. B-12 is often combined with B-5, and is found naturally in wheat germ, bananas, peanuts and sunflower seeds. If taken as a supplement, the recommended dosage is 25mg per day.

Vitamin B-5 (pantothenic acid). Too little B-5 can cause insomnia and tiredness. Vitamin B-5 works as an anxiety reducer, and a daily dose of 100mg is recommended.

Folic acid. The synthetic supplement of folic acid is processed by the body more effectively than folic acid found in nature. Too little folic acid can cause insomnia. Foods containing folic acid include leafy roughage, orange juice, beans and fortified breakfast cereal. The recommended dosage is 400mg per day.

Copper. According to a recent study, pre-menopausal women with a deficiency in copper commonly have difficulty falling asleep. In this study, women taking 2mg of copper daily fell asleep quicker and felt more refreshed when waking. A good way to include more copper in your diet is by eating cooked oysters and lobster.

GenF20. One of the best options in aiding the ability to sleep is taking Human Growth Hormone supplements. When you take these HGH supplements, you do not literally consume actual growth hormones. Instead, what you take in are “precursors” that aid the pituitary gland to produce hormones that are helpful in maintaining the human body in the peak of its performance state. In particular, the GenF20 HGH Releaser supplement uses Glutamine, Ornithine, and Arginine all of which belong under the “L” amino acids group in aiding the pituitary gland. One of the benefits is better sleeping.

A balanced diet is the best way to combat most vitamin deficiencies. You can try adding a few vitamin or mineral supplements to see if you notice a substantial difference. If you do not see a notable change, stop supplementing and focus on eating well and exercising regularly.

Dealing With Autism

Posted: under General Interest.

Although there certainly are a lot of things that can go wrong with an individual, the one thing that none of us want to think about are our children having to deal with autism and asberger syndrome.  Unfortunately, an increasing number of people have to do just that and until a cure is found, it seems that this is going to continue to rise.  At this particular time, it is thought that almost 5 out of every 1000 children are going to end up with this disorder. This is an unthinkable number and more research needs to be done in order to make sure that the problem is solved quickly.

Unfortunately, it seems that autism and asbergers syndrome is on the rise.  There are conflicting reasons as to why more people seem to be coming down with this disorder but here are two that are at the head of the pack.  Many people reason that it is as a result of the environment around us, perhaps even from mercury that exists in inoculations that we give to our children.  Other people, however, think that it is as a result of early detection as a result of raised awareness of this particular disorder.  Regardless of why it is happening, research is going to have to be done in order to find a cure so that it can be brought under control.

If you suspect that your child has autism, it is imperative that you see your doctor as soon as possible. While there is no current cure for this disease, your doctor has ways to help you and your child deal with this. There are also autism support groups for parents with children with this ailment to help parents better cope with this problem.
